BIOGRAPHY

St. Petersburg rapper Famous Kid Brick always knew that he was destined to have his name in neon lights. Over the past two years, he has been controlling dance floors with amped-up party rhymes and innovative style. Brick has continued to spread his infectious sound through out the south with his two scorching singles “Dumb Doe” and “I’m On It” which has enjoyed the #1 spot on Tampa’s WLLD 94.1 FM station throughout 2011. With the upcoming release of his 1st ep T.G.I.F. - Thank God I’m Famous, Brick will soon have the world at his fingertips.

Born Dairian Brickhouse in Tampa, Fla. and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida, Brick’s fame started in high school as he dazzled crowds on the hardwood court playing basketball all through school. A 90s baby who grew up on MTV, BET and VH-1 listening to the lighthearted party rhymes of Soulja Boy, Roscoe Dash, and Travis Porter, the 20-year-old Famous Kid Brick was determined to prove that he had his own innovative style.

“My music is similar to other party and club rappers out there but what sets me apart is my swag, my grind, and the passion to uphold my name!” explains Famous Kid Brick.

Initially, no one else in his area was dressing like him. Most of the kids were still wearing baggy jeans and plain tees, but that would soon change. He had so much influence that in his 2009 high school yearbook, he was voted most likely to become famous. Other kids in his area were so inspired by the setting trends of the young Famous Kid that they wanted to be a part of the positive movement their selves. Instead of being in gangs and getting involved with the wrong crowd, the Famous Kid swag caught on like wild fire.

Famous Kid Brick, Smooth Hines, and DJ Shurefire then created a group of fans, friends, and a few other artists called "The Famous Kidz" who all had the same desire in common, to become famous. And they would do whatever it would take for them to achieve that dream. It consisted of hot music, new fashion trends and an overwhelming abundance of support.

“What kids don't want to be famous?,” he rhetorically asks. “We are setting standards for the younger generation and doing whatever it takes for our positive movement to get noticed.”

In 2009 Famous Kid Brick had dropped a few singles in the streets, started doing shows, and definitely starting to create a buzz for himself. His career really began to take off after a local label “Hussch Boy Productions,” noticed the affect that Brick had on the city. In September of 2010 Brick signed to Hussch Boy. On January 1, 2011 they officially released his 1st single "I’m On It." From that point on Famous Kid Brick hasn’t looked back. He has enjoyed many clothing endorsements and months of advanced booked shows.

Famous Kid Brick’s home grown talent and appeal had really started to catch the eye of local clothing companies. Before long Brick was approached by Robert Buck, owner of Habari Clothing, to represent their brand and new fall line. In late 2011 Famous Kid Brick lanched his own line, F.A.F. Clothing, which features the infamous t-shirts titled All You Haters Eat A Brick. Among several other local and emerging companies was a Miami-based online style boutique, CatalogSoul.com. Set to launch in November, the site will feature Brick rocking Colourful Money, 8103 Clothing, and Bird Club brands.

“Famous Kid Brick is someone we didn’t think twice about when he was called on to represent our brand,” says Drew Watts of CatalogSoul.com. “Our motto is ‘Fly Forever’ and he is one emerging artist that we can put our stamp on.”

Famous Kid Brick's buzz has grown tremendously around the south from the exposure on the road and radio play. Capping off the year Brick has now had the opportunity to perform for more than 40,000 fans at WLLD 94.1 FM’s Last Damn Show 13 in Tampa, Florida A&M University’s Homecoming in Tallahasse, Bethune Cookman’s Homecoming in Daytona, and The Florida Classic Riding Big Car Show in Orlando, Florida. Promoters, DJs and fans across the south have said that Famous Kid Brick and the whole Hussch Boy Family are putting on the best show that they've seen in years.

“With the show that Famous Kid Brick and the Hussch Boy crew put on, you totally forget that it’s a local artist performance,” Orlando Davis - Program Director for WLLD FM.

Hussch Boy Productions recently launched compilation album Hussch Boy Hits Vol 1.5 - Famous As F@#k Reloaded which features singles from their other label signees R&B singer Blackboi, rapper Cristol, pop singer Mike Gomes, and female rapper Heather Marie. With the Sunshine State faithfully hanging on to every release from the Hussch Boy arsenal, it’s just a matter of time before the rest of the world gets a dose of the radiant rays that their backyards has been soaking up for months now.
